Michigan China Forum

Connect Michigan with China

In the spring of 2018, I participated in organizing the 2018 Michigan China Forum event as the publicity lead.

Founded in 2017, Michigan China Forum is a not-for profit student organization registered at the University of Michigan. The mission of the Forum is to connect Michigan with China. By inviting key figures across different industries to discuss the latest and most controversial topics, we are committed to empower the future leaders of the U.S., China and beyond to excel in a global landscape. The forum will serve as a platform for students and young professionals across different cultures to gain insights, dispel biases and engage in inspiring dialogues.

During the event, I mainly participated in the designing of logo, banners, posters, souvenirs like badges and brochures. Below is the first version of the logo, with which the initial idea comes from the logo of Michelle Presidenta.

Then the logo evolved to the one showing at the beginning of this webpage. The idea of the number "2" comes from a traditional chinese activity called paper folding. The color of red and blue are chosen from the theme of UMich and China. Below is a banner for this event, which I believe the colors themselves shows a kind of harmony.

The most proud works I've done during this event are the following four posters. The ideas respectively come from frosted glass, Chinese Chess game vs Western Chess game, Senbazuru and food culture.
